Wheelchairs for kids

The wheelchairs sponsorship in collaboration with Wheelchairs for Kids (Australia) has been a resounding success with 150 wheelchairs, specifically designed for children in rural areas, distributed over September and October 2007. Recipients were sourced in Katanga Province (Kisankala Village, Lubumbashi, Ruashi, Kolwezi) and in Kinshasa. Individuals as well as orphanages and centers for the physically challenged were beneficiaries. This year we shall receive 328 wheelchairs which will be distributed in Kinshasa, Goma, Kananga (Kasai Occidental), Bukavu and Katanga province.

The first wheelchairs have arrived and Melissa, from Kisankala Village, was the first child to receive a wheelchair donated by Africo Resources.
