Josephine obtained her Diploma in Information Technology at the PC Training and Business College in Johannesburg, South Africa in 2003. She has worked for several companies In South Africa within the IT Field before returning to Lubumbashi to live. She is fluent in English and French and previously assisted the Cell C Telecommunication Company in the recruitment area.
Godefroy Ilunga obtained his Bachelor in Management Administration at the Higher Institute of Lubumbashi and also has a qualification in General Mechanics. He previously worked as manager for Almed, a supplier of pharmaceutical products and manager for Zaire Fuel in Mbuji-Mayi (Kasai Province) until its closure due to the civil war. Godefroy has also worked as a labour Inspector in Lubumbashi. He joined the Company in 2004 and currently fills the role of Logistics Officer.
Hugo van Vuuren joins the Africo team as Logistics Manager. Hugo has 12 years’ experience in Africa, working as a Project Manager for an Engineering Consultancy firm in Tanzania and Uganda. He then joined the Humanitarian Aid Sector as a Logistics Officer.
Andrew started his working career in the mining industry in 1984 in Tasmania. After 10 years at Mt Lyell he left Tasmania and move to the mainland, Supervising Maintenance at the Fimerston process plant for nine years and thereafter two years as workshop forman, specialized engineering. He has worked in Tanzania for nearly four years.
Ghislaine holds of diploma of licence of Law from Université de Lubumbashi (DRC) since 2005. After various training assignments at the public prosecutor’s department and at Kasongo & Associés Law firm, Ghislaine chose the profession of Lawyer in 2006.
Dr. Evelyne Assenga, holds a Degree in Medicine from the University of Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. She has experience in the mining industry both as a Medical Practitioner and more recently in occupational health and safety. Dr Evelyne has been involved in the implementation of health awareness and prevention programs in HIV/AIDS, malaria and other infectious illnesses both within mine sites and surrounding communities.
Darren Taylor has been appointed as Construction Manager for Kalukundi. Darren has 15 years’ experience in the management of multi-disciplinary teams and sub-contractors in the mineral processing, power, oil and gas industries. Previously with Lycopodium, he has sound international experience, having worked in Ghana, Tanzania, Thailand and Australia.
Marek Krawczyk graduated from The University of Mining and Metallurgy (AGH) in Krakow, Poland with a Masters Degree in Mining Economics. Marek has 30 years experience in the mining industry, having worked in Poland, South Africa, Australia and most recently Tanzania. His experience includes both underground and open cut in a range of different minerals.
Sauda Kilumanga obtained her BSc at Trinity College Dublin in 1984. She has worked in a range of sectors in Public and Corporate Relations and has served on numerous social and culture related Boards in Africa. She is a member of the Society for International Development and joins Africo as Community and Public Relations Manager.
With a Bachelor of Science from the University of Western Australia and Masters in Environmental Management from Edith Cowan University, Jacqui has 19 years’ experience in the mining industry in Australia and Africa, most recently with Normandy, Newmont and Resolute. She has extensive experience in community consultation, regulatory approvals, mine rehabilitation, closure planning, statutory compliance and environmental management systems development.
Mike has an MSc in Geology from Natal University, South Africa. He has over 38 years’ experience as a geologist with 26 years having been spent with Phelps Dodge Corporation. Mike has worked in over 15 African countries where he has directed mineral target generation and on-site evaluation of properties. This included the establishment of exploration operations and the development of major exploration programmes, as well as the management of feasibility studies on two major projects.

Kipayko received his Licence (an equivalent of BSc Honours) in Fundamental Geology in 1985 from the Lubumbashi University in the Democratic Republic of Congo. He worked for the Research Mining and Geological Centre in Kinshasa, from 1987 to 2005 and for Gecamines, the state mining Company, from 2006 where he managed exploration programs. He has 17 years’ experience in exploration geology in both the Bas-Congo Province and in the western part of the Katangese copper belt. Kipayko's particular area of expertise is surface mapping and stratigraphic core logging.
Frank Mofati joined the Africo team in December 2006 as the Manager responsible for Camp Services and Security. He has 19 years experience in the hospitality industry and has managed numerous large minesite camps and catering contracts in Africa.
